Portraits Rooted in Purpose
Every life has meaning — and every milestone deserves to be remembered
Hi, I’m Nic Watkins — a milestone portrait and event photographer
based in Dallas, TX.
In life, there’s always an opportunity for a fresh start and new beginnings. But long before we recognize them, our lives already carry purpose. My story didn’t begin when I became a husband or a father — it began the moment I entered this world, shaped by hope, inspiration, challenges, setbacks, and breakthroughs that would eventually define who I am today.
As we grow, we learn that life isn’t meant to be experienced alone. The people who walk with us become part of our journey, and every season builds on the one before it. Before you know it, you start to see the same cycle repeating — beginnings, growth, change, and legacy. That understanding is what drew me to milestone photography.

Real Life.
Real Milestones.
The images you see here are from my wife Krystle’s maternity session — and the little one she’s carrying is our daughter, Amyra. We’re both in these photos because this season of our lives belongs to both of us. We both work, we both carry responsibilities, and we’re navigating family life while building something meaningful together. As an entrepreneur, my time is often unpredictable, and Krystle carries more of the day-to-day with our kids so that balance can exist. Like most families, we’re learning as we go — doing our best to stay present through it all.
What makes it all worth it is recognizing that these moments matter now, not just later. The memories we create today become proof of how far we’ve come. That’s how I approach every session at NIC PHOTO. I don’t just photograph people — I document purpose, progress, and the moments that quietly shape our lives. Whether it’s a growing family, a senior stepping into a new chapter, or an event marking something meaningful, my goal is to create images that feel honest, natural, and rooted in real life.
Because your story didn’t start at a milestone — it started the moment you entered this world.
Turn busy seasons into lasting memories
For years, I’ve dedicated much of my life to corporate work. Outside of NIC PHOTO, I’ve built a multimedia production company,
NMD Studios, serving large corporations, organizations, and small businesses. I love every aspect of media and the challenge of telling a company’s story — but in the corporate world, there’s often limited room for personal connection. Like most of us, we do what we need to do to keep the lights on, even when self-expression has to take a back seat.
That experience has deeply shaped my personal photography. While I was focused on promoting businesses, much of my own work — the work closest to me — lived quietly in the background, unseen. Now, with a team in place, I’m able to return to what I truly enjoy: creating meaningful images for families like mine and yours. We’re built to connect, not just show up to work every day. And if my work helps you slow down, preserve your moments, and get a little more time back with the people who matter most, then I’ve done my job.
2025 brought new gifts

welcomed to the world
Nathan James Watkins

I got the news right after Mother’s Day — just weeks before Father’s Day. We were expecting a new addition to the family.
After my wife’s molar pregnancy, we were understandably nervous about trying again. Krystle was determined… and I was willing. lol The doctors told us to wait six months. Fellas, you already know — six months is basically a life sentence. Easily the hardest six months of my life. I was like a banana ready to be peeled at this point. lol
Needless to say, we didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl, but either way, I was grateful that God gave us another opportunity to bring a second child into this world. When I found out we were having a boy, I felt like any man would — a new heir to the throne. The moment Nathan arrived, every man in our family had Lion King scenes playing in their heads. He’s the first grandson after many, many girls before him.
And our daughter Amyra? She was absolutely thrilled — because she officially had someone new to boss around.
